Ages: rising 1st graders through rising 9th graders

St. Vincent Pallotti High School Summer Camps are an opportunity for young players to improve their current skills and develop new skills in a positive and fun environment. Directed by Pallotti Soccer Coach Maceo Rojas, campers will have fun learning the game and acquiring skills to help them reach their soccer potential. All campers will be taught the fundamentals of the game such as ball control, passing & ball movement, dribbling, and shooting as well as individualized instruction throughout the week tailored to each camper’s age and skill level! The cost of Summer Camp includes the use of Pallotti’s athletic & academic facilities, and for the safety of the campers, all staff are trained to Maryland Department of Health standards. All head coaches are also CPR and First Aid certified. Come be a part of the Pallotti Panther family!

The cost of Summer Camp includes the use of Pallotti’s athletic & academic facilities, and for the safety of the campers, all staff are trained to Maryland Department of Health standards. Girls Basketball

Directed by Pallotti Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach Joe Mathews, this camp will emphasize fundamentals such as ball handling, passing, shooting, moving without the ball, and rebounding. Campers will also have the opportunity to compete in daily games that promote fun while learning the game and also acquiring skills to help them reach their basketball potential! The cost of Summer Camp includes the use of Pallotti’s athletic & academic facilities, and for the safety of the campers, all staff are trained to Maryland Department of Health standards. Directed by Pallotti Art Teacher Christine Long, campers will unleash their creativity and imagination through the discovery of well-known artists and various techniques. Campers will draw, paint, and sculpt with an array of traditional and nontraditional methods and materials to create unbelievably unique pieces of art! The cost of Summer Camp includes the use of Pallotti’s athletic & academic facilities, and for the safety of the campers, all staff are trained to Maryland Department of Health standards. Grammar & Writing Workshop

Course Description

This course intends to reinforce students with better grammar skills and develop stronger overall writing practices common to writing assignments and expectations they will encounter in their future. Through different forms of literature (mostly short stories, non-fiction, and poetry), students will learn various forms of writing. Then, the class will transition into their own writing practices, all while paying attention to grammar throughout the course. Students will also begin to understand and appreciate the significance of World Literature and the culture in which it was written. 

What Does This Mean?

Students should think of this course as a boot camp to strengthen their overall writing ability. This means that students will work hard in this class and be asked to do work that they may or may not have seen before. However, like boot camp (only friendlier, less physical, and without the haircut requirement), this class is a testing ground rather than a battleground. As a testing ground, this course is an opportunity to practice and sharpen students’ writing, discussion, and revising skills needed to go on to high school.

Requirements & Prerequisties 

One full, completed year of middle school ELA is required. Therefore, students must be a rising 7th, 8th, or 9th grader.
